Frank151 Presents: Ricky Powell - "Bug Out".....Launch Party, NYC

12/12

Famed NYC street photographer Ricky Powell collaborated with Frank 151 on the latest issue of its Frank Book—a quarterly publication that selects "special guest curators" to direct its editorial themes.  The latest issue, which Ricky titled "Bug Out," features a brand new series of photos, as well as collaborations with a collection of artists.  To celebrate the launch, Frank151 hosted a party at Sacred Gallery last Thursday night in downtown NYC, where the photos will be on exhibit until Dec. 28.  Definitely one to check out if you're in the city.

My best friend Danielle is now the proud owner of this photo of Basquiat and Warhol.

I thought this was just funny...

Really liked this one of Sandra Bernhard.

This one wasn't for sale (believe it's from the photographer's archives). The Beastie Boys.

Six Scents: Series Three Party @ The Greenwich Club, NYC

11/5

Six Scents Parfum celebrated the official launch of its third series of limited-edition fragrances Friday night with a big bash at 3 Legged Dog in downtown NYC. The annual collaboration pairs six visionary fashion designers with perfumers to create unisex fragrances around a specific theme.  This year's chosen designers: Alexis Mabille, Mary Katrantzou, Junn.J, Rad Hourani, N.Hoolywood, and Ohne Titel—and the theme: "innocence to experience, the nature of childhood memories and the influence of adolescence on identity."

Each individually numbered perfume bottle is packaged in a collectible box complete with a cool designer portrait by Robert Knoke and a special DVD featuring seven short films, including one by Alia Raza, which stars Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and is written by 14-year-old wunderkind, blogger Tavi Gevinson.  As if that weren't enough to warrant the $149 price tag, a percentage of the proceeds goes towards the War Child International charity.

Fashion's Night Out, NYC

9/10

The second year of Fashion's Night Out and, just as expected, stores and sidewalks everywhere were jam packed with party people and fashionistas. I set my sights downtown with my good friends Glenn Belverio and Danielle Saxe to do a little shopping, enjoy a few drinks and, of course, snap photos of the scene.

Glenn looking dapper on Danielle's patio before heading out on the town.

Danielle giving her lips a little gloss.

On Houston in SoHo.

Corner of Prince Street and Mercer.

At Burberry: How amazing is she?

Love his hair.

The window at Agent Provocateur (yes, the girl is real).

At Longchamp: The grand staircase leading up to the store.

A little chardonnay, shopping....what's not to love about Fashion's Night Out?

I don't remember what store I took this picture in, but how cute are these ladies?

People waiting in line to get into the Chanel store on Spring Street.

Soho was becoming more of a mob scene, so we headed toward the Meatpacking District. First stop, Christian Louboutin, where we were greeted by performers on stilts (the theme for the stores event: Le Carrosse Noir).

At Theory.

This girl looked fabulous. I'm in love with her dress.

I thought his hair was cool so I took a photo. We started talking and I asked him what his name was. He said David Kim, crack head. I asked if that's how he wanted me to credit him on my blog and he said yes. So, this is David Kim, self-proclaimed crack head.

It's always fun to randomly run into celebs on the street (last year it was famed photographer Terry Richardson, who took a picture with me). Here, Kimora Lee.

On the phone, mobbed by fans and yet she still flashes a perfect smile for the camera. Gotta love this girl.

Good Night: My good friend, stylist Robyn Fernandes, who caught up with us at the end of the evening and got us a killer table for a nightcap at Pastis. (Thanks, Roby!)

Hanging With Glenn @ Griffou...NYC

8/22

I caught up with my fab friend Glenn Belverio Thursday night and saw this girl. Really liked her big bow and draped off-the-shoulder jacket. (Had a kind of Madonna vibe, circa 1986—love!).

Took this picture of Glenn as we were leaving. Look at his shoulders. Looks like he has wings.

Glenn in front of Hotel Griffou. The lighting over his head was casting a red-ish, orange-ish tint on him (he said it reminded him of Snooki from the Jersey Shore). His tan is actually very bronzed, golden (and real).
